About the Book

We're on the trail of another treasure that was hidden centuries ago. This time it's some treasures of the Knights Templar. They were Christian soldiers defendin the church and fightin in the name of it fer nearly 200 years. This was way back when the Catholic church was one of the most powerful forces on earth. Big Mike found a book describin a monastery on the Limpopo River in South Africa that was founded by the Poor Fellows-Soldiers of Christ. They were the ones that later became the Knights Templar. They'd been servin the church since the time of King Solomon and was mighty proud of their heritage. Durin the time they were fightin the crusades they were pillagin everthin they could lay their hands on that looked valuable. They gave a lot it to the church but the church wanted them to hide a bunch of it too. We believed they'd hidden away an enormous amount of wealth nobody but they themselves knew about. After 200 years of servin the church, the church turned on them and even killed some of them. The secrets to where many of the treasures they'd hid had been lost fer centuries. We figured there might be some kind of link between the monastery treasures we found and the Knights Templar. That's what sent us off to see if we could find the monastery by the Limpopo River.
About the Author: I'm a grandfather, and great grandfather and count those among the greatest achievements of my life. Of course no grandfather, grand or great, can accomplish such an honored status without the grandmother, both grand and great, and children who help create such blessings. I'm truly grateful. I spent many years as a university administrator and classroom professor, and also became an entrepreneur. I'm now retired. I've always pushed myself to risk taking the next step in challenges I find daunting. Over the years I've written many things related to my career and know the challenges of professional writing. Some months ago I started writing adventure stories to my grandson. They were simply a means for me to share my love of adventure stories with him. I had not intended to put them before the public eye but my loved ones, including my grandson, encouraged me to do so. So here I am taking that risky next step in a challenge I again find daunting. That challenge is whether you the reader will enjoy readin my stories as much as I have enjoyed creating them. I have thrown off the shackles of conventionality and resorted to using the lingo of a late 1800's cowpoke. Believe me when I tell you I'm murdering the English language. For you purists, forgive me. To the rest dive in and have fun. Branton Holmberg
