August is fart hurrying away, anil the sultry sun pours down his unpityirfg fires upon those of us who cannot off to the sea-side, the lakes or springs, or the cool shades of the country, but must endure the hot walls still. Well, we are not, at least, without philosophy! To be sure, we are spared many of the annoyances to which our travelling friends are subject, and we can perambulate without being jostled by rude crowds, or run over by carts and omnibuses.
