Ein junger Hase ist einer der wenigen Überlebenden seines Volkes. Die menschenähnlichen Hasenwesen leben naturverbunden und friedlich in den Tiefen der Wälder nahe einer Stadt namens Silva, bis der Bau einer Eliteschule ihren Frieden stört. Nicht nur der Lebensraum wird ihnen genommen, sondern die Hasenbevölkerung fast ausgerottet. Denn Arnold, ein Geschäftsmann, geht buchstäblich über Leichen, um seine zwielichtigen Ziele durchzusetzen. Alfred ist als waschechter Umweltschützer bereit, sich auch mit Gewalt für den Naturschutz einzusetzen, doch stößt er damit selbst bei Gleichgesinnten auf Widerstand. Er zieht sich in die Wälder Silvas zurück, wo er als Selbstversorger lebt und sich mit den Hasenwesen im Kampf um ihren Lebensraum verbündet. Doch eines Tages wird er durch einen Zauber zu einem Dasein als Baum verflucht, dem allein die Sprache bleibt, die Hasenwesen bei der Rettung ihrer Welt zu unterstützen. Romeo, Luka und Enzo merken bald, dass etwas faul an ihrer Schule ist: Denn den Wald, der sie umgibt, dürfen sie nicht betreten. Was hat es mit diesem Verbot auf sich, das zu verteidigen die Schulleitung zusammen mit einem Trupp an Jägern, die Arnold verdingt hat, keine Skrupel kennt? Bei dem Versuch, das Geheimnis dieses Verbots zu ergründen, geraten die drei Jungen in den Strudel der Hetze gegen die Hasen. Bald entscheiden sie sich für den Kampf an der Seite der Tiere, um ihre Naturgebiete zu bewahren, und riskieren dabei ihr Leben. Wird es gelingen, den Hasenwesen ihren Lebensraum zurückzuerobern? Dieser Roman verbindet fantastische und realistische Elemente zu einer Liebeserklärung an die Unberührtheit der Natur. Im Zusammenhalt derer, die letzte Ökoreservate verteidigen, zeigt er Möglichkeiten für jeden Einzelnen, in einem respektvollen Geben und Nehmen mit der Natur und ihren Ressourcen zu leben. Dieser Roman richtet sich hauptsächlich an Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene und ist für Kinder ungeeignet.
About the Author: Lorenzo Emanuele Tomasello wurde am 26.08.1994 in Bologna geboren. Kurz darauf zog seine Familie nach Hamburg. Seine Eltern lasen ihm oft Gutenachtgeschichten vor und daraus entwickelte sich bald seine Leidenschaft zum Schreiben. Es gab für ihm keine größere Freude, als eigene Welten mit selbstgesetzten Regeln zu erfinden. Neben dem Schreiben liebt er Flora und Fauna. Ihn faszinieren die Vielfältigkeit des Lebendigen und die scheinbar unendlichen Möglichkeiten der Daseinsformen.
