Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Literatur, Werke, Note: 1,7, Universität Paderborn, Veranstaltung: Entwicklungslinien: Von Opitz bis Goethe, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Epoche des "Sturm und Drang" am Ende des 18. Jahrhundert wird auch als Geniezeit bezeichnet. Es ging damals darum sich gegen die Obrigkeit aufzulehnen, seinen freien Willen durchzusetzen und das christliche Weltbild zu hinterfragen oder gar abzulehnen. Doch dieses Gedankengut ist wesentlich älter. Bereits in den Sagen der alten Griechen findet man eine Figur, die sich gegen die höchsten Anführer auflehnt. Die Rede ist von Prometheus, der seine Ideale über die Autorität des Göttervaters Zeus stellt. Goethe wählte als Charakterbild für seine Ode "Prometheus", den symbolischen Revolutionär. Was ist ein besseres Symbol für den Widerstand als jemand, der sich gegen die Macht des Zeus auflehnt? Ich werde in meiner Hausarbeit die Funktion des Prometheus sowohl in der Mythologie und im Werk Goethes untersuchen und herausfinden, wie Goethe seine Rolle interpretiert. Welche Eigenschaften des Menschenfreundes hat er besonders herausgestellt und was neu hineininterpretiert? Deshalb werde ich zuerst kurz den altgriechischen Mythos skizzieren. Ich werde einen Einblick in die Sage des Prometheus geben und darstellen, wieso diese Figur ähnliche Ziele wie die Geniedichter des "Sturm und Drang" verfolgt. Danach werde ich mich Goethes Hymne Prometheus widmen. Nachdem ich den Aufbau und die Form des Gedichtes grob untersucht habe, werde ich eine kurze inhaltliche Analyse vornehmen und dabei mein Hauptaugenmerk auf die Figur des Prometheus werfen und darstellen, inwiefern seine Figur und das Gedicht in den "Sturm und Drang" passen. Dies ist unerlässlich, da die Epoche sicherlich Ausschlag gebend für Goethe Figurenwahl ist. Danach werde ich den antiken Prometheus mit Goethes Adaption vergleichen. Dabei werden unter anderem die Fragen nach seiner Titanen-Herkunft und seine Funktion
