These volumes are arranged thematically, concentrating on the major trends in the global economy as a whole, although attention is also paid to developments in particular economies. Issues discussed include: the impact of World War I on trading and financial arrangements, the agricultural crisis of the 1920s and the fate of the primary producers; the origins of the economic collapse of 1929-1931; the reactions of the international community and individual country governments to the continued global crisis.
