This helps her acknowledge her feelings for Will. This in turn helps her understand her father better. As the summer progresses, Ronnie understands why her mother sent her and her brother to stay with their father. She grows close to him and she finishes a piece of music he has been composing. She had refused to attend the Juilliard School previously because of her resentment towards her father who had been her inspiration in taking up music.
