About the Author: Marjorie Quint-Bouzid, MPA, RN, is vice president of patient care services/CNO and emergency manager for Fort Washington (Maryland) Medical Center. Quint-Bouzid has more than 25 years of inpatient and outpatient clinical nursing experience with more than a decade in nursing administration. A registered nurse, she leads day-to-day operations of the hospital as the site administrator, establishing the standards of patient care, nursing practices, and performance. She previously worked for Inova Health System in Alexandria, Virginia, where she served as the senior director of women's, children's, and cancer services and as an assistant to the chief nurse. Quint-Bouzid has held senior nursing leadership roles across the country, including Grady Health System in Atlanta; Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia; and Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. She also worked in nursing at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona; Rhein-Main Air Force Base in Frankfurt, Germany; the U.S. Army Hospital in Frankfurt; St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City; and the University Medical Center in Tucson. Quint-Bouzid holds a master's degree in public administration from Troy State University with a concentration in public personnel management and a bachelor's degree in nursing from D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York. She is a board-certified nurse executive and attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania Executive Education Program for Nurse Leaders.
