About the Author: Peter Hervik is Associate Professor of Migration Studies at Aalborg University, Denmark. Hervik has conducted ethnographic fieldwork among the Yucatec Maya of Mexico, researched the emergence of neo-racism and populism in Denmark, and studied women's everyday lives in post-revolutionary Egypt.
