Not illustrated. 1909 Excerpt: ...held at Clear Creek, Utah, in Clear Creek Precinct, Carbon County, on the 15th day of September, 1909, before John Cunningham, justice of the peace, in Clear Creek Precinct, in said county, upon the body of Eesuki Abe, there lying dead, the jurors whose names are here subscribed, the said jurors upon their oaths do say, the said person came to his death at about 2 o, clock p. m., September 14, 1909, in room No. 10 sixth west main entry, No. 1 mine, by loose top coal and rock caving on him, caused by his and his partner, s neglect in not properly propping under said loose coal as directed by the mine foreman and fire boss, thus placing no blame on the officers of the Utah Fuel Company. John Spigarella, age 42 years, an Italian, married, wife, four children, two boys and two girls, was killed at Scofield, Utah, November 1," 1909. He had pushed his last car down the room and put a paper on a lump of coal to show the shot firers how many shots he had, and started to pick up his pick when the coal fell and crushed him. No inquest held. John Schneider, an Austrian, 36 years of age, was killed at Sunny side, Utah, November 9, 1909. While he was shovelling co.al near the face of his working place, a bounce came, which threw coal out from face, striking Schneider, throwing him against car and crushing his head. No inquest was held. Joe Sorka, an Austrian, 34 years of age, married, wife and one child, was killed at Sunnyside, Utah, November 9, 1909. He was shovelling coal into a car, when a bounce came in the coal, throwing coal against him and knocking him into an old cave twenty-five feet from face, fracturing the base of his skull.
