A CattaneoAngelo Cattaneo, who holds a Ph.D. in History from the European University Institute in Florence, is a researcher at the Centro de Historia de Alem-Mar of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Center for Overseas History of the New University of Lisbon). urrently he is studying the global circulation of knowledge, technology and material culture from the fifteenth to the seventeenth centuries, particularly cosmography, cartography and travel literature. He is the author of Mappa mundi 1457 (Rome, 2008).
