A K GargBrigadier AK Garg is an alumnus of NDA, Khadakvasla. He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in 1973 and had the distinction of being awarded the SILVER GUN, BEST COMMANDO and SILVER AUSTER TROPHY in the initial years of his service career He represented India to establish the first UN Mission at Angola in 1989. He has been a graduate of Long Gunnery Staff Course, Defence Services Staff Course, Long Defence Management C ourse and earned his M.Phil. Degree at IIPA, New Delhi. As an aviator, he was also a Qualified Flying Instructor. He served with the Army for over 36 years and thereafter with the Border Security Force (BSF) as a DIG for another four years. He has also been a Director of an Educational Institute located near Nashik and President of Rotary Club. An avid reader, he is fond of adventure activities and a keen golfer.
