Rao, Acclaimed globally for his scientific research work on Agricultural Statistics and Bioinformatics, Dr. Atmakuri Ramakrishna Rao has contributed 16 years of dedicated service towards scientific research and education. Obtaining his education i.e., B.Sc. in Agriculture from O.U.A.T., Odisha, MCA from IGNOU, M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi and Post Doctoral experience in Bioinformatics from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), New York and University of Washington, Seattle, he is currently working as a Senior Scientist of Centre for Agricultural Bioinformatics at Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI), New Delhi. Besides, he is a dual faculty member and research guide in Agricultural Statistics and Bioinformatics at Post Graduate School, IARI, New Delhi. He has earned to his credit over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals of repute and several book chapters. He has handled over a dozen research projects and guided/guiding 3 Ph.D. scholars and over 6 M.Sc. students in the disciplines of Agricultural Statistics and Bioinformatics. Dr. Rao has shared his experience and expertise at several prestigious professional forums by delivering several invited talks in conferences and workshops. He has conducted several training programmes for the scientists and teaching faculty under National Agricultural Research System (NARS) in India as Course Director and training coordinator. His has been awarded the Long-Term DBT Biotechnology Overseas Associateship in 2004-05. He is reviewer of peer-reviewed journals of high impact.
