Newman is a serial entrepreneur having previouly founded two successful startups, DbSecure and Application Security, Inc. Prior to AppSecInc, Newman founded DbSecure, Inc. where he played the role of both CEO and CTO. He led the acquisition of DbSecure by the publicly–traded company Internet Security Systems (ISSX) in 1998.
