Aggie ElwellAggie Elwell has had many collecting interests; however, it was her 1st piece of marked Czechoslovakian costume jewelry discovered at a flea market in Waterbury, Vermont in 1992, that piqued her curiosity about the origin and history of the unique pice she found -- for the negotiated price of 50 cents. She has researched and written about Czechoslovakian jewelry. As a member of the Czechoslovakian Collectors Association, she presented seminars on Czech costume jewelry and has written articles for the Journal of Czech Decorative Arts and co-authored an article for Unravel the Gavel.A selection of pieces from her costume jewelry collection was on exhibit at the National Czech & Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from November 2017 until February 2018. She has donated several pieces to the permanent collection of the Czech Center Museum in Houston, Texas.Aggie has also travelled to the Czech Republic to do research at the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou.
