He obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences on the topic “Design, synthesisand biological evaluation of newer glucokinase activators from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Punjab (India). His present areas of research include structure-based drug design and medicinal chemistry of matrix metallo proteinase inhibitors as anticancer agents, antibacterial drug resistance, glucokinase activators as anti-diabetic agents, aldose reductase inhibitors for diabetic complications, PPAR agonists for treatment of metabolic syndrome, multi-potent anti-Alzheimer’s agents, pesticides and environmental chemistry.
