Alec HallAlec's working life has been mainly in retail banking, then teaching bankers and finally as Deputy Head of the Business and Management Department in a college in Canterbury for nine years. He has been retired over twenty years (he's in his mid-eightis) which has enabled him to work as a volunteer for the Salvation Army (S.A.) of which he has been a member most of his life. His parents and grand parents were also Salvationists, in fact, his dad's father was an early day officer who was imprisoned for fourteen days for causing a disturbance of the peace. In those days, some of the magistrates were anti-Army because of its stand against alcohol.
