Alexander HixonLex Hixon (Sheikh Nur al-Jerrahi) received his Ph.D. in World Religions from Columbia University in 1976. He then became an adept practitioner of several of the world's sacred traditions including: Vedanta in the Ramakrishna Lineage via initiation bySwami Nikhilananda; Sufism, as a sheikh in the Al Jerrahi Order of Turkey in charge of communities in North America and Mexico (via ordination by Sheikh Muzaffer); Tibetan Buddhism; Eastern Orthodox Christianity; and Zen Buddhism via Bernie Glassman Sensei. From 1971 to 1984 he conducted a weekly radio show in New York City called "In The Spirit," interviewing spiritual teachers from around the world. An enlightened spiritual teacher, he guided many souls along their chosen path.
