Alexander MacLarenAlexander Maclaren (1826-1910) was born in Glasgow and educated at Glasgow University, Stepney College, and the University of London. He began his ministry the year after he received his BA and developed a reputation as an attractive and powerul preacher. Maclaren received honorary degrees of divinity from the Universities of both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
