Alice FowlerAlice Fowler is drawn to writing about outsiders: people whose lives have gone awry and how they try to wrest them back. Landscape and the natural world are powerful sources of inspiration. She enjoys how, in the short story form, complex threads canbe unpicked and rewoven, within a relatively small word count. She worked as a journalist until 2006, writing features and interviews. Her short stories have won and been printed in anthologies. She won the Historical Writers’ Association short story prize in 2020 and the Wells Festival of Literature short story prize in 2021. She has been shortlisted for the Harper’s Bazaar short story prize and the Bournemouth Writing Prize. Alice also writes longer fiction. Her historical novel was longlisted for the 2021 Stylist Feminist Fiction Prize. Read More Read Less
