Alvin BeachyAlvin J. Beachy was a native of Salisbury, Pennsylvania where lived as a member of the Amish community. He continued his elementary school education at Messiah Academy, Bluffton (Ohio) College, and earned his Th.D. at Harvard University Divinity Shool in 1961. From 1960 to 1968 he pastored at Zion Mennonite Church at Souderton, Pennsylvania.Alvin taught at Bluffton College and later at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, Virginia and Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas. He is author of Worship as Celebration of Covenant and Incarnation and his revised doctoral dissertation The Concept of Grace in the Radical Reformation. Beachy died in 1986 at the age of 72.
