Amar Singh SinghaProf. A.S. Singha received his M.Sc., M. Phil. and Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from the Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill Shimla (INDIA), in 1983. He is a Professor of Polymer Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology-Hamirpur, IDIA. He is currently serving as Head of Chemistry Department as well as Registrar of the institute. He is the author of more than 200 international research publications, coauthored 2 books and has a number of book chapters to his credits. Dr. Singha serves on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Polymer Analysis and Characterization (Taylor & Francis) and ISST Journal of Applied Chemistry. His current research interests involve applied and fundamental work on the processing, characterization and applications of natural fibers, polymers, composites, nanocomposites, hydrogels, removal of toxic heavy metal ions, drug delivery, controlled release of insecticides/pesticides etc. He has been associated with the institute as HOD (1996-1998; 2002-2006; 2009 onwards); Dean Academic (2002-07), Dean Planning & Development (2007-2009) and Registrar (2009 onward) during his stay in the institute.
