Amaresh started his creating journey in early 1990s when he started asa sub editor in Sambad and Katha. As on today he has published four novels, five short story collections, one poetry collection, one essay collection and a travelogue. He has written the script of Sabyasachi Mohapatra's award-winning film "Pahadara Luha". He has received many literary recognitions including Bhubaneswar Pustakamela Purasakr, Rajadhani Pustakamela Puraskar and Gyanada Katha Samman.
