While illustrating this book during her sophomore and junior years in high school, she was involved in the swim team, was an ccomplished horn player and leading actress. She was also a 2 time award winning artist, earning a silver medal in drawing from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in 2024 as a sophomore and a Gold Key in mixed-media as a junior in 2025, sending her artwork to be adjudicated at the national level.
