Amândio ReisAmândio Reis is Assistant Professor of Portuguese Studies in the Department of Romance Literatures at the University of Lisbon, School of Arts and Humanities, Portugal, and editor-in-chief of Compendium: Journal of Comparative Studies. e completed his PhD in 2020 at the University of Lisbon with a dissertation on late-nineteenth century short fiction from a transatlantic perspective. He is the author of Short Stories, Knowledge and the Supernatural: Machado de Assis, Henry James, Guy de Maupassant (2022).
