Anne McNamaraAnne McNamara was born in Northumberland UK. She attended college in London qualifying as an optometrist. As part of a world trip, intending to stay only a few days, Anne arrived in Alice Springs in 1966 and never left. She worked for Bindi Inc. from1984 to 1992, first placing young people into open employment, then helping to develop policy and staff training. She continued to be involved with both after her retirement. In 2003 Anne became a Board member of Bindi, acting as 'relief' secretary and holding the position of Public Officer. While at Bindi she studied Developmental Disability through Charles Sturt University. Anne has a son and four grandchildren, three of whom live in Victoria. She shares her home with her eldest granddaughter and great granddaughter. Read More Read Less
