Anne ShadeAnne Shade loves writing stories featuring strong, beautiful BIPOC women who love women, from her idyllic suburban home in West Orange, NJ. Anne is the author of four novels: Femme Tales, queered retellings of three classic fairy tales, short-isted for a 2021 Lambda Literary Award; Masquerade, a roaring twenties historical romance; Love and Lotus Blossoms, a coming-of-age and coming-out story, included in Publishers Weekly's Best Books of 2021; and Her Heart's Desire, a coming-out romance. Anne has also collaborated with editor Victoria Villaseñor on the Bold Strokes Books anthology In Our Words: Queer Stories from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Writers and with Bold Strokes Books authors Julie Cannon and Erin Dutton for the novella collection My Secret Valentine. When Anne isn't busy writing, she's crafting and making plans for her future bed-and-breakfast.
