Anton Ficai

Prof. Anton Ficai is Professor and PhD advisor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Romania. He is deeply involved in academic and research acivities, coordinating courses in Chemistry, Materials Characterization, Composite Materials for Medicine, and NanoBioMaterials for Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery. His research covers tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, multifunctional and composite materials, antimicrobial and antitumoral coatings, nanoparticle synthesis, and surface modification. He has published over 350 scientific papers—including more than 330 ISI-indexed works—and 23 books or chapters, and he holds 30 patent applications, 10 of which are granted. Internationally recognized, he frequently serves as an invited speaker, guest editor, editorial board member, and Section Editor-in-Chief of Coatings. A valedictorian of UPB and laureate of national chemistry competitions, he has received over 100 awards and is an active member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists.
