Archer Butler HulbertArcher Butler Hulbert was an American historical geographer, writer, and professor of American history. Born on January 26, 1873, in Bennington, Vermont, he was the son of Rev. Calvin Butler Hulbert and Mary Elizabeth Woodward. His father went on to ecome the president of Middlebury College. Hulbert developed a strong interest in American history and geography, which led him to become a prominent figure in his field. Throughout his life, he authored numerous works that focused on the exploration and settlement of early America, contributing significantly to historical scholarship. He was a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) and earned recognition for his research and writings on the westward expansion and the American frontier. Hulbert was married twice during his lifetime. He passed away on December 24, 1933, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 60.
