Aretha Oluwakemi AsakitikpiAretha Oluwakemi Asakitikpi holds a doctoral degree in African Studies, specializing in anthropology and communication. She has carried out numerous research projects that interrogate media, culture, and development through discorse, textual, photographic, and symbolic analysis. She is a consultant, researcher, and adjunct academic staff at the Southern Business School in Johannesburg, South Africa. As an active member of the International Sociological Association's Research Committee 13, she has made numerous presentations and organized various sessions under this platform. Asakitikpi also serves as a research manuscript reviewer for Media War and Conflict and the Journal of Sociology and Anthropology. Her research works have appeared in book chapters published by CODESRIA and UNESCO and in journals such as the Nordic Journal of African Studies, Global Media Journal, International Journal of the Sociology of Leisure, and Politikon: South African Journal Studies.
