Aseem HasnainAseem Hasnain is a sociologist at California State University, Fresno. Prior to his PhD (UNC @ Chapel Hill), he was a community organizer with non-profits working with indigenous and peasant communities in Western, and Central India. He is a plitical sociologist interested in the ideological dimensions of politics, and culture. His published research engages with indigenous social movements; identity politics, colonialism, democracy, and the public sphere; comparative human rights; politics of knowledge production; and the linkages between caste ideology and vegetarianism.
