Ashwani Raju
Ashwani Raju is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, Banaras Hindu University, India. He has fulfilled different roles in academic research, mapping, and exploration, including a Senior Geologist position at the Geological Survey o India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, Government of India from 2011 to 2017. He also visited Chapman University, USA, as a DST-SERB Fellow for six months from September 2023 to March 2024. His research mainly focuses on the mapping and monitoring of Earth resources using advanced remote sensing. His interests include the application of Remote Sensing and GIS in mapping and monitoring Earth resources with a specialization in thermal and microwave remote sensing, GIS, and field Geology and has published in numerous reputed journals. As a member of the faculty in the Department of Geology, Banaras Hindu University, India, his teaching interests include Physical Geology, Geomorphology and Theoretical Remote Sensing along with Earth and its Atmosphere. He has supervised 11 master's theses and is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. theses in the field of natural hazards.
