D. West has been writing since the age of 14. Writing has been both a passion and a source of comfort for her, spanning over 30 years, as she navigated through numerous challenges. When her son Dakota was 5, he was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Using social stories, B found that her love for writing became her most effective teaching tool for him. Despite developing an autoimmune disorder and fibromyalgia, she kept her dream alive by composing poetry, and stories for her son.
