B G AnandaraoBoddapati Gnana Anandarao is a retired Senior Professor from Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), a Unit of Department of Space, Ahmedabad. He graduated from the Physics Department, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in 1971. He joined PRL in 1971 and otained his doctorate degree in Ionospheric Physics in 1977. During a year-long stint at the Observatoire de Meudon, France during 1979-80, he worked on Air-borne Far-Infrared Astronomy. After his return, he worked as a faculty member in the Astronomy Astrophysics Division of PRL till his retirement in 2010. His fields of interest include Earth's Upper Atmosphere, Optical and Near-infrared Astronomy, and Instrumentation. He has 135 publications in the fields of Ionospheric Physics, Stellar Evolution, Star Formation, and Spectroscopic Instrumentation, in reputed international and national journals and in conference proceedings.
