Beau ClelandBeau Clealand is an assistant professor of history at the University of Calgary and a research fellow at the Centre for Military, Strategic, and Security Studies, where he teaches and researches about pirates, smugglers, raiders, and scoundrels and hw they shaped the history of North America and beyond. He served as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army, with combat duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, and before that he played mediocre football at Georgia Tech.
