Becca Nelson Sankey
Becca Nelson Sankey was born in San Angelo, Texas, and has lived there more than 30 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism at Angelo State University.
She has been a freelance writer for the Standard-Times since 2008 and began riting for San Angelo Lifestyles Magazine, based in Weatherford, Texas, in 2011. She also has had articles published in Erath County Living, Midland Living, The Abilene Reporter-News and West Texas Angelus.
Sankey is a volunteer for Concho Valley PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving), serves on the board of directors of West Texas Angels for Animals (AFA), and is a volunteer photographer for Heart Gallery of Northwest Texas, a nonprofit that displays portraits of children awaiting homes in foster care. In 2013, she started her own business, Be Free Photography.
Sankey lives in San Angelo with her husband, Brian, and their two children, Gavin and Savannah.
