Becky MartinBecky Christine Martin was born in Midland, Michigan, in 1958 and grew up in a lively Christian home with five sisters and two brothers. Her parents gave all the girls the middle name Christine and the boys Christian to remind them that their identit in Christ matters most. From family hymn-singing to cozy winter evenings reading by the fireplace, Becky's childhood overflowed with faith, music, books, and love. She fondly recalls birthday celebrations ending with her father reading Psalm 139-her cherished "Birthday Psalm"-a tradition that made God's Word deeply personal. With a pastor for a father and a musically talented mother who played organ and directed the church choir, Becky grew up in an environment rich in creativity and devotion. Her parents also taught valuable life lessons about sharing, forgiveness, and kindness. Her mother taught all the children piano, sewed their Christmas and Confirmation dresses, baked delicious Christmas coffeecakes, and modeled a joyful life of service.Becky always loved stories, both reading and telling them. Childhood favorites like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder books helped inspire her passion for teaching. She later taught in a parochial school, guiding students in a multi-grade classroom.Today, Becky works at a home for senior citizens, serving meals, visiting residents, and brightening their days with warm conversation. Though retired, she continues to help whenever needed. She also serves in a church ministry that reaches people with special needs through Bible lessons, songs, crafts, and snacks-a time of joy and connection.Becky enjoys playing piano and violin, embroidering baby blankets, and writing stories that share the love of Jesus. She wrote The Most Beautiful Dress to teach children how Jesus covers our sins with His robe of righteousness, and Safe with God to help them understand that Jesus is with them in every situation. Covid in the Hands of Jesus reminds children that He remains present even in frightening or uncertain times. Her deepest desire is for children to know Jesus as their Savior and friend. Whether they feel lonely, afraid, or unsure, Becky hopes her stories assure them that Jesus is stronger than anything they face-and that He will never leave them.Becky Christine Martin lives in Michigan, where she continues to enjoy her hobbies, meaningful work, and time with loved ones.
