Niemann Jr. is professor emeritus, Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Director of the Land Information and Computer Graphics Facility at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For three decades he taught GIS and land information sstem concepts and applications at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
