Bernice LeverBernice Lever, living on Bowen Island, BC, gets Ohigh on wordsO. Generation (Black Moss Press, 2009) is her 9th book of poetry, and sheOs written an English textbook, The Colour of Words, and other prose works. For 2011, she has completed her 0th poetry book, Imagining Lives. Currently, she is busy writing, freelance editing, giving readings and workshops. SheOs a regular presenter at Surrey International WriterOs Conference, 2007-2010 and OWrite on BowenO, 2008-2010. She has read her poems on 5 continents, yet still enjoys performing on stage, radio or television. Best known for editing Waves, a literary magazine, 1972-1987, she has won awards for her poems, including the Wm. Henry Drummond prize, 2008. In 2004, she won the Allan Sangster Award for her committee work with Canadian Authors Association. Also she has been honoured with Life Status by Canadian Poetry Association 2000, World Poetry Society 2008 and The Ontario Poetry Society 2009. A past V.P. for the League of Canadian poets, she is now a CAA rep. on the Public Lending Right commission.
