Bernie LewisBernie Lewis was born and raised in San Diego, California, where he first learned to love and appreciate the beauty of the ocean environment. He settled as an adult in Winchester, Virginia, his home for the last 45 years. Since the age of 20 he has ben a frequent visitor to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He and his family bought a vacation home in Kinnakeet in 2020.Bernie graduated from Washington and Lee University, then earned a master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. He subsequently served the Winchester community as a clinical psychologist for 35 years before retirement.
