Beverley Clare Williams HicksBEVERLEY CLARE WILLIAMS HICKS, originally from New Zealand, was a registered psychiatric nurse who spent nearly forty years in mental health service in Manitoba. She was a practitioner of psychiatric nursing as well as a community mental health educaor for thirty years, a psychiatric nursing educator at Brandon University for nine years, and a long-time passionate scholar of psychiatric nursing education and history. Hicks wrote a dissertation on the evolution of psychiatric nursing education and, in retirement, found herself compelled to write the history, in which she had played a part.
