Binboga Siddik Yarman

Binboga Siddik YarmanProf. Dr. Binboga Siddik Yarman completed his BSc. in Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey; MSc. Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA, in 1977; and PhD at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, in 1982. He is an expert in designing widband matching networks, broadband RF and microwave amplifiers, and digital phase shifters. He designed many low-noise small signal and power amplifiers for major government agencies such as US Army, Navy, and Air Force as well as Comsat, INTELSAT, Hughes, TRW, AT&T Bell Labs during his work at RCA David Sarnoff Research Center, Princeton, NJ, USA. He also designed high-power broadband amplifiers for US security forces during his professional consultancy assignment to MOTOROLA Advance Solutions Labs, in Penang, Malaysia. He used to teach in many universities as a Professor of Electronic Circuits and Microwave Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA; Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA; Technical University of Istanbul; Istanbul University; Middle East Technical University of Turkey; Ruhr University of Germany; Wuhan Technological University of China; and Tokyo Institute of Technology of Japan. Currently, he is the chairman of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Istanbul University. He published many papers in major microwave and circuit and systems transactions such as IEEE CAS and IEEE MTT, IET of UK and JEE of Japan, AEU of Germany, etc. in designing amplifiers, antenna matching networks, and digital phase shifters. He is the inventor/co-inventor of various "Real Frequency Techniques" to design broadband power transfer networks, RF and microwave amplifiers, and digital phase shifters. He is the author/co-author of major text/research books such as "Design of Ultra-Wideband Antenna Matching Networks" by Springer, 2008, "Design of Ultra-Wideband Power Transfer Networks" by Wiley 2010, and "Design of Broadband RF and Microwave Amplifiers" by CRC of Taylor & Franchise 2016. Beyond many others, he holds four US patents in digital phase shifters. He has been elected to New York Academy of Science in 1994 and named as "Man of the Year in Science and Technology" by Cambridge Biography Center of UK in 1999. He is a Fellow IEEE, Fellow of Salzburg, and Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt of Germany. Read More Read Less
