Bj SnellDr. B. J. Snell is Professor Emeritus in the School of Nursing at California State University, Fullerton teaching in the midwifery and women’s health nurse practitioner Graduate Program.' In addition, she is owner and clinical director of Beach Citie Midwifery and Women’s Health Care and the Beach Side Birth Centers in Laguna Hills, Long Beach, and Corona.' She has experience in both hospital and out of hospital settings.She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama, Birmingham; her Master’s of Science in Nursing and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner education from the University of Colorado, Denver; and her PhD and Nurse-Midwifery Certification from the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.' She is recognized nationally as a Fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives.She is a strong advocate for women’s health issues and has worked to decrease barriers to midwifery care and improve access to safe pregnancy and childbirth care.' Dr. Snell is a member of the CNMA Health Policy Committee and is immediate past Health Policy Director for the association.'Her proudest accomplishments have been following in her mother’s footsteps becoming a nurse, being married to a wonderful husband, Mike, for 37 years, having two amazing sons, Chris and Jeff, and being present for the birth of over 3,300 babies.
