Bobby Hart
Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Grammy nominee Bobby Hart co-created the sound and songs for the hit television show The Monkees. His songs and productions as Boyce & Hart and with other artists outsold the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combinedin 1967. His 2015 autobiography, Psychedelic Bubble Gum, was an overnight bestseller.
Bobby became a multi-millionaire celebrity before he was 30 but he was feeling that his interest in spirituality had grown stronger than his attraction to Hollywood's fame and fortune. He knew something was missing in his life. As he did ancient Yoga practices to gain self-knowledge, he recognized the source of his musical success and creativity was not his talent or skills, but his soul power.
He became a Kriyaban Yogi and practiced daily meditation with sessions lasting up to six hours. He lived, according to the Niyamas, the life of a traditional yogi as he was one of the few who truly walked his talk.
His focus was on embracing the teachings of his guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, and on sharing his knowledge and experiences with others. Bobby passed from natural causes on September 10, 2025
