Britta FreemantleBritta Freemantle was born in Wetzlar and now lives with her English husband on the Dorset coast in southern England. While others come here on holiday, she can often be found wading through tidal flats, collecting fossils, or explaining to guests ina brisk sea breeze why the British insist on calling everything "lovely" - no matter the weather. After many years in education, she swapped the classroom for a tour bus and has since been working as a tour guide. With a keen sense for history, language and the quirks of cross-cultural encounters, she introduces visitors to British life - sprinkled with personal anecdotes in which she herself doesn't always come off unscathed.Writing has been part of her life since childhood. She went on to complete a Master's degree in Creative Writing, won a regional writing award in Dorset in 2018, and has published several articles in English magazines - naturally in English, and always with a cup of tea within reach. Her first book is the result of years of experiences between tea time, left-hand traffic and the everyday absurdities of British life. The result is an entertaining and self-deprecating tribute to a life lived between two cultures. Read More Read Less
