Bruce MichelsonBruce Michelson (Course Guide and website author), Ph.D. University of Washington, is Professor of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Director of the Campus Honors Program. His books include Printer’s evil: Mark Twain and the American Publishing Revolution; Literary Wit; Mark Twain on the Loose; and Wilbur’s Poetry: Music in a Scattering Time. He has also published scores of articles and book chapters on American writers from Hawthorne and Dickinson through Saul Bellow, Robert Lowell, and Garrison Keillor.
