Candice M. BurkettCandice Burkett is a Doctoral Candidate in the Cognitive Psychology department of the University of Illinois Chicago. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois Chicago and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis. Hr research interests fall under the broad umbrellas of learning and text comprehension. Specifically, her research is focused on disciplinary literacies, science text comprehension, literary text interpretation, integration of multiple representations and metacognition. She has conducted research on four different highly collaborative grant-funded projects in three labs from two universities. Her research experience is rooted in both empirical laboratory research with undergraduates as well as applied research with students in 6th-12th grade. Candice has been an author on 19 publications and nearly 50 conference presentations and has mentored 15 undergraduate students on research projects. Her undergraduate teaching experience includes: Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Statistical Methods in Behavioral Science, Cognitive Psychology, and Learning and Motivation.
