Carl JacksonCarl T. Jackson was born in a Nottinghamshire mining town during a time of political uncertainty. Aged 16 years he enlisted into the Royal Navy at H.M.S. Ganges, renowned for its strict discipline, demanding training and tough regimes. After leaving he Navy he worked underground at Pleasley Colliery before being accepted as a Probationary Constable in the Nottinghamshire Constabulary. He retired after 30 years’ service with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector.
