Cheng ChangAssoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Chang Cheng , currently affiliated with the Guangdong Academy of Sciences (GDAS), Institute of New Materials Research, has been selected for the China Association for Science and Technology's Youth Talent Support Program. He seres on the Medical Metal Materials Committee and Additive Manufacturing Committee of the Nonferrous Metals Society of China. He also holds the positions of Secretary-General and Director of the Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) Branch of the Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society. Furthermore, he is a young editorial board member for several SCI journals, including Advanced Powder Materials, Journal of Magnesium and Alloys, and Rare Metals. His publication record includes over 35 high-impact SCI papers, with 20 as the first or corresponding author, amassing more than 1,300 citations. Additionally, he has authored one book and three book chapters, holds two U.S. patents and fifteen Chinese invention patents, and has issued seven group standards. Dr. Chang specializes in laser additive manufactured metal biomedical materials, with a particular focus on magnesium alloys for bioactive materials. His main research interests include the design and post-processing of high-performance alloys for laser additive manufacturing. He has published more than 30 high-level SCI papers, including 19 as the first author or corresponding author, with over 900 citations (according to Google Scholar). He has also published one chapter with Elsevier, applied for two U.S. patents (one authorized), and has 11 authorized Chinese invention patents and two utility models. Dr. Chang has led the development of one national standard, one industry standard, and two group standards in additive manufacturing. As a project leader, he has undertaken a national key research and development sub-project, a Guangdong Province surface project, and a Guangzhou project. He has secured nearly 3 million yuan in funding for additive manufacturing-related enterprises and has participated as a key researcher in nine national key research and development projects. Dr. Chang has received the second prize of Science and Technology from the China Nonferrous Metal Industry and the China Plastic and Aesthetic Association. He also serves as a reviewer for various SCI journals, including J. Mater. Sci. Technol., Addit. Manuf., and Bioact. Mater., with an annual review volume of more than 10. With a strong background in materials science, Dr. Chang is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the field of new materials.
