Cheryl M. FerrisAs a certified/licensed athletic trainer since 1994, Cheryl has practiced and taught the biomechanical paradigm in orthopedic health care while employed by Waynesburg University in the Athletic Training Education Program and has instructed undergradute athletic training and graduate exercise science and sports studies and health science students at California University of Pennsylvania. Also, she provided health care services for sports teams as an athletic trainer at South Fayette High School and for physically active individuals at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Academically, she has published journal articles and abstracts and presented on the topics of lower extremity training and ACL injuries in females as well as Type 1 diabetes and Celiac disease in sports. Cheryl was employed as an independent consultant for Expert Medic and the Aircast Foundation/Extremity War Trauma Research Foundation for 4 years as she contributed to electronic health records projects and grant funding.' She has served the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society and the Board of Certification for over 20 years and volunteered at various events such as Breast Cancer 3-Day walks and marathons. A struggle with health issues led Cheryl to become a Certified Bowenwork® Practitioner in 2018 and Tensegrity MedicineÔ Practitioner in 2020. Both of these practices utilize the biotensegrity paradigm when looking at the human body in its wholeness. Cheryl is currently the owner of Lucia Health, LLC, outside of Pittsburgh, PA, where she uses complimentary forms of manual therapy and body-mind techniques to assist the innate healing capacity in individuals.'
