Christos ChalkiasDr. Christos Chalkias is Professor of Applied Geography and Geographic Information Systems in the Department of Geography at Harokopio University of Athens, Greece. He was Vice-Rector for Research, Development and Lifelong Learning at the same univerity (2020–2024) and Chair of the Department of Geography (2013–2015). His research focuses on applied geoinformatics, geographic information systems and Science(GIS), digital cartography and modeling of natural processes using geoinformatics. He has published more than 100 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings and has supervised 12 PhD theses, of which 7 have been completed.
